Intel's got a new addition to their family of processors - the Core i7 - three processors that run at blistering speeds, have automatic overclocking and hyper-threading capabilities (say what!?). With this little monster, you'll never have to worry about your PC giving up before you've pwned your last opponent.
This new product has definitely created some buzz, check out what the reviewers had to say:
| Hardware Canucks.com | Intel Core i7 "Nehalem" 920, 940 & 965 XE Processor Review– “Intel has focused on energy-efficiency this new microarchitecture, but they have also added a significant number of new performance improvements features that generally increase power consumption… in our opinion, Core i7's is a great success and improves upon the last generation in nearly every way. It provides performance where needed and it absolutely blows away the competition."
| Techgage.com | Intel Core i7 Performance Preview – “I think it's safe to say that Intel successfully brought back the same spirit that came with the original Core 2 launch… HyperThreading is without question one of the most important new features of Core i7. It alone is responsible for massive speed increases in various scenarios, including rendering jobs… Intel has once again further secured their spot as the CPU leader with the Core i7. With each new processor launch, we expect to see performance increases, but with i7, some of the increases are mind-blowing.”
| Tweaknews.net | INTEL I7-965 XE EXTREME NEHALEM PROCESSOR- "Intel has designed a processor that is not only very fast, but runs quite cool for its capabilities… The new Nehalem technology is nothing less than a giant leap forward… the removal of the core bottlenecks, the increased processor thread count along with the on-die memory controller does bring a lot more performance to the table."
| Sharky Extreme.com | Intel Core i7-965 XE & Core i7-920 Review – “The Intel Core i7 introduction is a very successful one, but it also comes with a few challenges to be aware of. The performance side is a huge positive for the new platform, and the combination a true multi-core architecture, an integrated memory controller and the bandwidth of triple-channel DDR3, are unbeatable in the system and gaming performance arena.”
| Techreport.com | A couple of Core i7 motherboards compared – “Intel's DX58SO is certainly well-equipped for enthusiasts. The question is whether Intel has built a better enthusiast board than Asus has with the P6T Deluxe—a tall order given Asus' history of enthusiast favorites.”
| Hardcoreware.com | Intel Core i7 - "The design of Nehalem is impressive in itself; Intel has built a clever modular system that allows them to use the same microarchitecture for desktops, as well as servers and mobile, while being able to finally differentiate each platform significantly."
| Neoseeker.com | Intel Core i7 920 940 965 Review & Overclocking– “The Intel Core i7 processors are a significant evolutionary step forward from their Core 2 predecessors… The rendering times blew me away - and the increase in speed to be had for transcoding from high performance SSD drives such as the Intel XM25 is also well worth considering. For multi-media, a Core i7 940 or Core i7 965 has the potential for quickly paying for itself.”
